Bhajan Lyrics in Hindi & English
Read traditional bhajans by poet-saints such as Tulsidas, each transcribed from an old printed edition, with Roman transliteration and original Hindi, Hinglish and English meanings.
A bhajan here is a pad by a named poet-saint: a refrain (tek) followed by stanzas (antara), usually ending with the poet's signature line (chhap). Valkala publishes only the printed pad from an edition old enough to reuse. Modern bhajans are copyrighted and are not included, and lines that singers add from other works are described, never merged into the text.
Where these bhajans come from
Each bhajan here is a pad by a named poet-saint, transcribed from an old printed edition; the current four are by Tulsidas, from the Vinaya Patrika in the Nagari Pracharini Sabha's Tulsi-Granthavali. A pad has a refrain (tek), stanzas (antara) and usually a closing line with the poet's name (chhap). Recorded and temple versions often add lines from other songs; those additions are described in the source card rather than merged into the text.
Singing and reading along
The pages give the printed text with Roman transliteration and Hindi, Hinglish and English meanings, so you can follow the poetry as well as the tune. Modern bhajans and film devotional songs are under copyright and are not reproduced here.
